Synopsis
Today, designed nanomaterials play an important role in a wide range of everyday applications. They can be found in space materials, sports equipment, batteries, solar cells, medical implants, automotive industry and our mobile phones. Many of these materials are applied as coatings and thin films in electronic products, on windows, screens and other surfaces to provide certain functionalities or features.

Such nanomaterials and coating features are generally very small, in the range of a few nanometers to hundreds of nanometers.  In the development process, it is very crucial to have access to very sensitive and reliable tools and technologies, in order to obtain the right design and materials features. In this workshop, you will be given an overview of the nanomaterials and applications of nano-coatings. You will also be introduced to a number of different surface-based nanoscale characterization tools from Biolin Scientific, which will provide comprehensive tools in the development of new and better nanomaterials faster. The workshop is divided into two parts - theory and practical demonstration.
